What is amblyopia?
Lazy eye (amblyopia) is reduced vision in one eye caused by abnormal visual development early in life. The weaker — or lazy — eye often wanders inward or outward. Amblyopia generally develops from birth up to age 7 years. It is the leading cause of decreased vision among children. Rarely, lazy eye affects both eyes.
What is binocular vision?
The human visual system is a complex network including the eye, ocular nerves, and key brain areas that process visual information. Under most circumstances, we use information from both eyes to create a single visual image. This ability to converge information from both eyes is called binocular vision.
What is Low Vision?
Low vision is vision loss that can’t be corrected with glasses, contacts or surgery. It isn’t blindness as limited sight remains. Low vision can include blind spots, poor night vision and blurry sight.
The most common causes are age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetes.
What is Facial Prosthesis?
An orbital prosthesis restores the eyeball and eyelids and may include the eyebrow and part of the forehead, nose, or cheek. We make the ocular (eyeball) portion of the prosthesis from laminated layers of acrylic (plastic) and paint each ocular prosthesis individually to match the unique detailed coloring of your intact eye
Neuro Vision Rehabilitation
Neuro-optometric rehabilitation is an individualized treatment regimen for patients with visual deficits as a direct result of physical disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, and other neurological insults. Neuro-optometric therapy is a process for the rehabilitation of visual / perceptual / motor disorders.
What is myopia management?
Myopia management is an important aspect of eye care that aims to slow down the worsening or progression of myopia. When myopia onsets in childhood, it increases the risk of a person developing high myopia. This is especially true when myopia occurs before the child turns 10.
What is vision Rehabilitation?
Few people are totally without sight. Most people who are classified as “blind” actually have remaining sight. Thanks to developments in low vision rehabilitation, they can enhance their visual function and improve their quality of life.
